Matt's the Joval Wine Group Wine Ambassador and specialises in wine education.
Matt completed the Court of Masters Sommeliers Certified Sommelier Examination and is an active wine show judge across Australia.
In 2015, he was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial referred to by James Halliday as the 'most exclusive wine school in the world'.
Matt's previous role of Group Sommelier at Solotel Group had him overseeing restaurants like Aria, North Bondi Fish and Chiswick Woollahra.
Matt has a fresh and approachable take on wine and knows what works on wine lists especially in the post-covid era.
“We’re finding restaurants are opening in totally different marketplace. Operators are writing smaller, more dynamic lists and are keeping a close eye on profitability” says Matt
“While operators might have had staff to help them in the past, now we’re seeing restaurateurs doing the job of two or three staff at once. This website and the wines we produce make it easy” he adds.
Matt's list of programs is available on the Restaurant Revival resource portal and he among the WSET-trained, JWG area managers are on hand for one-on-one sessions with restaurant operators for guidance and feedback throughout the reopening phase.
